Working with Accounts
Why must I link my Campus eBookstore and Google accounts?
Your Google eBooks live on Google's servers, so linking accounts enables our
systems to communicate with Google and provide you with the convenience and
enjoyment of reading Google eBooks anywhere, anytime. You only need to link
accounts once, and it's quite fast and easy. And you can rest assured that
the process is very private and secure.
You must first grant us access to your Google Books Account (including all of
your library shelves, titles, annotations, and last pages read) so that we
can show you all of your Google eBooks, add eBooks to your account, and
synchronize your reading position across your devices. Learn more about
syncing you account here or syncing your reading position here.
How do I link my Campus eBookstore and Google accounts?
You only need to link accounts once (unless, for some reason, your accounts
become unlinked). After completing your first purchase of a Google eBook
through Campus eBookstore, you will see an order confirmation page. Linking accounts
from the confirmation page is easy, just click the "Access Google EBooks" button, and you
will be taken to your bookshelf page. You will see a button asking you to link your accounts, please click it.
Then you will be asked to sign into your Google Account. If you are already signed into one or more Google
accounts then you will be prompted to select which account you would like to link with. Once complete, you'll
be taken back to your bookshelf page on Campuse eBookstore's website and your purchased books will be displayed!
How do I unlink my Campus eBookstore and Google accounts?
Please be careful about unlinking your Campus eBookstore and Google accounts, as that
will cause your Google eBooks to be removed from Your bookshelf at Campus eBookstore.
If you unlink your accounts, your Google eBooks will still be available through your
Google account, and you can return them to Your eBook Library at Campus eBookstore
simply by relinking your accounts.
To unlink your accounts, just click the "Disconnect Google Account Link" button at the
bottom of the bookshelf page. You'll be prompted for confirmation. Then, if you accept,
your accounts will be unlinked.
You can always re-link your account later to bring your Google eBooks back into the Campus
eBookstore bookshelf!
How are my Campus eBookstore Bookshelf and my Google libraries different?
When we refer to "Your Bookshelf," we are referencing your library of Google eBooks™ that
are available to you from within the Campus eBookstore website. Your Bookshelf is where to
come whenever you want to access the Google eBooks that you've obtained through Campus
eBookstore. From this bookshelf, you can read your Google eBooks online or can download them
right to your preferred eReader.
Because Campus eBookstore and Google are working together to bring you Google eBooks, you may
also access your Google eBooks through your Google account. Google refers to the place in your
Google account where your Google Books are stored as "My Library," so here's a friendly reminder:
- Bookshelf: Where your Google eBooks are available on the Campus eBookstore website.
- My Library: Where your Google eBooks are available at Google.
If you've purchased Google eBooks through sources other than Campus eBookstore, you will also find them in bookshelf on our site.

*Google eBooks can be read with any dedicated eBook reader that runs Adobe Content
Server 4's EPUB DRM. Click for a full list of Adobe-compatible devices.
Google eBooks are not currently compatible with Amazon Kindle devices.
For a superior reading experience, you can download and install the Google
Books reading app for free on iOS device that is iOS 4 or higher device or

How do I use the Google Web Reader?
Once you've linked your CB and Google accounts you can read your Google eBooks in several ways:
It's easy to access your Google eBooks online through the Google Web Reader. Simply
visit your account and click the "Web" Link under the book you'd like to read. This
will display the book using the full-screen Google Web Reader.
Google eBooks you have purchased are displayed in your account, and you can also
access the Google Web Reader by clicking the title or cover thumbnail.
You can also take advantage of the following Google Web Reader features:
- Navigation: The Web Reader allows users browsing Google eBooks
to take advantage of their full screen for a more pleasant reading experience. If
you resize your browser window, the Google Web Reader will scale the Google eBook
pages up or down to fit. At the bottom of the page, a slider allows you to easily
flip through and jump to different sections of the Google eBook. The current page
number is displayed in the lower corner of the Web Reader at all times.
- Content: The list icon provides you easy access to the book's table
of contents, with links to chapters and notable sections within the Google eBook.
- Settings: The "Aa" icon specifies Google eBook viewing settings.
For many Google eBooks, this includes the ability to choose to view original page
images or flowing text (when available). The flowing text mode allows you to adjust
the font, text size, line height, and justification, but you might find the original
page images more suitable for specially formatted Google eBooks, such as for poetry.
- Search: The magnifying glass icon allows you to search for words
and phrases within the Google eBook you're reading. You can easily switch between
viewing search results sorted by order of appearance or by relevance.
- About this book: This displays the title and publisher of the current
Google eBook. You can also see the average rating, check out reviews (or write your
own), and view additional bibliographic information.
- Keyboard shortcuts: Google eBooks support the following keyboard
shortcuts to easily navigate through Google eBook pages:
- Page Forward: J, Right Arrow, P, or Page Up keys
- Page Backward: K, Left Arrow, N, or Page Down keys

How can I read offline in my device?
Offline reading is available on all of our mobile apps and supported eReaders.
iOS Devices: Instructions to read offline in your iOS device
Android: See "Manage your ebooks" in this Help Document
All eReaders: If you using a supported eReader device, you can also read most books available as Google eBooks offline by downloading and transferring a PDF or ePub file to your device. See this help document for detailed instructions.
Can I read my Google eBooks with multiple devices?
When using the Google Web Reader, you can access your Google eBooks on any computer
as long as you're not reading it on multiple machines simultaneously. For EPUB and
PDF downloads, Google eBooks use Adobe Content Server 4's DRM, which supports the
registration of up to six supported devices. No matter where you read your Google
eBooks, you can pick up right where you left off—even if you've switched to
a different device.
Google eBooks don't support device-to-device transfers. That means you'll need to
access your Google eBooks from your account or from your Google account when you
wish to use a different/new device to read your Google eBooks. If you lose a device,
you don't lose any Google eBooks you downloaded onto it; you'll be able to read
all of your Google eBooks with your new device.
See above for a list of all supported devices.
